HexaTube
2019
During the second module of my study Creative Technology, we were asked by NoMoreMondays to design a puzzle game as part of an escape room. This puzzle should be integratable to most escape rooms and thus also be changable to fit in.
The design led to a hexagonal box, with inside lots of sensors to measure different interactions with the user. Users did not get any clues to solve the puzzle, the idea was that the user could find out how the puzzle worked by playing and feedback. The trick to the puzzle was that the sensors had to be triggered in a specific order, to get a code. Every time the user would activate a wrong sensor, the puzzle would give feedback using a red LED. When the user would activate the right sensor, the user would get a green light, and the lights would count up the amount of sensors which still had to be triggered.
This puzzle turned out to be a fun and challenging project, where human centred design and interaction was at the core.
